Research and Development of Toileting Aid Devices to Improve QOL and Reduce Caregiving Burdens
(Lilium Otsuka Co., Ltd.)
Main Features
By using ultrasound to non-invasively “visualize” bladder urine volume, the device supports prediction of urination patterns and notification of appropriate toilet timings. Additionally, we aim to help create and execute care plans at nursing care sites.
The device can also contribute to providing dignified urinary care by understanding the appropriate timings for users who tend to require periodic changes and periodic toileting guidance.
Product Features
[Adhesive type]
This device presents transitional patterns by continuously measuring urine accumulation in the bladder. It is intended for a wide variety of use cases, from those with high independence of voiding behavior to those with reduced activity due to a high degree of bedriddenness.
[Single-use type]
This device enables confirmation of urine accumulation in the bladder at the desired time in cases in which it is difficult to perform attachment to the upper part of the bladder, such as for people with relatively high activity levels.
[Scale]
This scale predicts urination timing by detecting urination time and volume without any handling of urine.
Technical Features
The product applies the Mode A ultrasound technique developed in the medical field to the nursing care field.
