A Guide for Developers

For those interested in case studies and development methods for care technology

To introduce examples of care technology development and development methodologies, we have published “Case Studies on the Development of Robotic Care Devices and Innovative Business Models: Toward the Development of Widely Adopted Devices” (hereinafter “Case Studies”) and “Key Points for Field-Problem-Solving and Co-Creation-Based Care Technology Development” (hereinafter “Key Points”).The Case Studies compendium compiles examples of distinctive business models in the care technology sector and outstanding technologies that solve challenges in care settings, organized so that development personnel can use them as references based on their specific roles. The Key Points compendium summarizes the process of solving challenges through on-site validation and the factors contributing to success, highlighting the importance of “on-site problem-solving and co-creation” technology development, where developers and care providers collaborate.

For those seeking to improve the safety of their products

We have compiled the information necessary for developing safer care robots and have published safety improvement guides covering three categories: “① Outdoor Mobility Assistance Devices,” “② Non-Wearable Transfer Assistance Devices,” and “③ Wearable Transfer Assistance Devices.”

*Please note that during periods when the portal site is not updated, the latest information will be posted on the Shinshu University Safety Robotics Laboratory website.

For those interested in clinical evaluation during development

We have published a clinical evaluation guidance document that compiles information on the clinical evaluation of care robots. Separate versions are available for companies aiming to expand domestically and those aiming to expand overseas.

Please note that materials related to overseas operations are also compiled on the page titled "For Developers Considering Overseas Expansion."

For those interested in safety standards for care robots

We have published a "Safety Handbook" that compiles information on safety-related topics, including risk assessment methods, safety standards, and safety testing methods.

For those interested in equipment development with an eye toward global expansion

The following page contains materials related to our global expansion.

For those interested in learning about methodologies for developing care technology

In line with the robot development process, we have published a methodology for robot development in the form of the "Guidebook for the Development of Robotic Care Devices."

We have also released the "Seminar Presentation Materials for the 'Guidebook for the Development of Robotic Care Equipment'" as a resource that provides an easy-to-understand explanation of the contents of the "Guidebook for the Development of Robotic Care Equipment."

For those interested in learning about the equipment selected for development assistance

The following page lists the projects selected for development grants from AMED and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
