Robotic Care Equipment Development Partnership

1. Purpose

We are seeking companies and other organizations that are actively committed to developing robotic care devices in the “Priority Areas for the Use of Robotics in Long-Term Care.” We will organize a partnership comprising the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, other relevant agencies, and participating companies and organizations,This initiative aims to serve as a platform for identifying and addressing the needs of users and care facilities, while also facilitating the provision of information from government agencies to support development and incorporating feedback from participating companies and other entities to inform policies for the development and practical implementation of robotic care devices.

2. The Role of Partnerships

(1) Identifying the needs of users and care facilities, developing platforms for matching those needs, and
exchanging opinions among developers, users, and care facilities; providing feedback on both parties’
efforts toward pilot testing
(2) Provision of information from
government agencies
; advice from the Techno-Aid Association (a public interest incorporated foundation under the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare) regarding development; and provision of information on measures for the development and
practical application of robotic care devices (3) Solicitation of opinions on future measures for the practical application of robotic
care devices; challenges faced by companies in
advancing development; needs for modularization and standardization; and other needs
(4) Promotion of the use of the Life Support Robot Safety Verification Center: Promotion of its use as a site for demonstration testing of safety
standards, etc
