Purpose of the Event

[Purpose of the Event]

The second seminar for the FY2024 Project to Promote the Development of Robotic Care Equipment (Infrastructure Development) will be held online on Friday, August 30, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM.
This seminar will focus on the themes of “Overview and Usage of the Safety Handbook for Robot Care Equipment Development” and “Support Systems for Safety Aspects of Robot Care Equipment Development.” It is intended primarily for developers of robot care equipment, with the aim of deepening their understanding of specific risk factors to be aware of during development and corresponding countermeasures, as well as the support systems available for safety aspects at various stages of development.

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Yasuhiro Akiyama, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Robotics Engineering at the Faculty of Textile Science and Technology, Shinshu University, and Mr. Isamu Kajitani, Principal Researcher at the Human Augmentation Research Center, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), as guest speakers. Their presentations will include an introduction to the "Safety Handbook for the Development of Robotic Care Equipment, 2nd Edition" (*1) and an overview of the Living Lab (*2) operated under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Care Robot Platform Project.Following the presentations, there will be a Q&A session where the speakers will answer questions from the audience.

We would be delighted to welcome not only companies currently developing robotic care devices and those considering entering the robotic care device industry, but also anyone with an interest in the latest trends in this sector.

From the Seminar Organizing Committee
The Organizing Committee aims to build a "robotic care equipment industry ecosystem" through outreach and awareness-raising activities, such as disseminating information at seminars on robotic care equipment and operating a portal site. The term “industry ecosystem” used here refers to a state in which players involved in robotic care equipment—including developers, care facilities, individual users, new entrants to the care sector, and local governments—come together to form a community capable of independently facilitating information sharing, matchmaking, consultation, human resource development, and recruitment within that community. We believe that the formation of this robotic care equipment industry ecosystem will stimulate the exchange of information and the alignment of needs between developers and users, thereby accelerating future development and adoption.

We look forward to seeing many of you there
