Public Opinion Survey on Care Robots: About 60% Say "I Would Like to Use Them"
The Cabinet Office released the results of its "Special Public Opinion Survey on Care Robots" on September 12. Care robots are advanced devices, such as those being developed in this project, that
assist with walking, bathing, and other activities in care and welfare settings.
When asked about receiving care at home, 59.8% of respondents answered "I would like to use them" or "I would somewhat like to use them." Furthermore, when asked about receiving care, 65.1% answered "I would like them to be used" or "I would somewhat like them to be used."

The poll was conducted from August 1 to 11 among 3,000 men and women aged 20 and over nationwide, with responses received from 1,842 people. Regarding the appeal of care robots (multiple answers allowed), "reducing the physical and mental burden on caregivers" (63.9%) ranked highest.When those with caregiving experience were asked about their most difficult tasks (multiple answers allowed), the top responses were "toileting" (62.5%), "bathing" (58.3%), and "feeding" (49.1%).
