[Development Discontinued] Monitoring Support Platform for People with Dementia

This monitoring system platform uses multiple complementary sensors to comprehensively assess when a care recipient attempts to move out of bed, thereby notifying caregivers and taking measures to prevent the recipient from moving.

・Because the system makes comprehensive judgments using multiple complementary sensors, it enables wide-ranging monitoring while reducing false alarms and missed detections. Additionally, an interactive app is provided to adjust the level and scope of monitoring according to the care recipient’s care level.
・The system includes behavior-restraint measures activated when a care recipient moves into a danger zone via an interactive device designed for people with dementia, thereby reducing falls and other accidents until a caregiver arrives.
・Communication costs associated with notifications to caregivers are reduced to less than one-tenth of conventional levels, while also enabling notifications to be sent to multiple caregivers.
・To facilitate integration with other sensors and systems, RT middleware is implemented, and the system is provided as an open platform with a wide range of wired and wireless connectivity options.
