<Event Concluded> AMED Project to Promote the Development of Robotic Care Equipment (Infrastructure Development):
5th Seminar, "Examining Safety in Robotic Care Equipment from a Legal Perspective"
(Webex Webinar)
Purpose of the Event
We will hold the fifth seminar of the FY2022 Project to Promote the Development of Robotic Care Equipment (Infrastructure Development) online on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, starting at 3:00 PM.
Titled “A Legal Perspective on Safety in Robotic Care Equipment,” this seminar aims to deepen participants’ understanding of key considerations for the development and market deployment of robotic care equipment, as well as essential points for creating better products. A legal expert will present on defect risks and accident cases related to robotic care equipment.
Our speaker will be Mr. Masahiro Kobayashi (Hanamizuki Law Office), an attorney who specializes in safety issues related to service robots and humanoid robots and serves as a member of various committees within government agencies. Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session where Mr. Kobayashi will answer questions from participants.
We invite a wide range of individuals involved in the care sector to attend, including developers seeking to deepen their understanding of the safety of robotic care devices, as well as care providers interested in the safe use of robots in care facilities and home care settings.

About the Seminar Organizing Committee:
The Organizing Committee aims to build a "robotic care equipment industry ecosystem" through outreach and awareness-raising activities, such as disseminating information at seminars on robotic care equipment and operating a portal site. The term "industry ecosystem" as used here refers to a state in which players involved in robotic care equipment—including developers, care facilities, individual users, new entrants to the care sector, and local governments—come together to form a community capable of independently facilitating information sharing, matchmaking, consultation, talent development, and recruitment within that community. We believe that the formation of this robotic care equipment industry ecosystem will stimulate the exchange of information and the alignment of needs between developers and users, thereby accelerating future development and adoption.
We look forward to your participation.
